Michael co-founded CSG with Hal Danchilla in 2008. An accomplished government relations consultant, he has a strong record of results in the public, private, and political sectors. He has thirty years of experience serving as a trusted advisor and strategist for many large companies and associations at both the federal and provincial levels. Beyond being skilled at executing public affairs strategies through traditional government relations, Michael is known for incorporating community engagement, and mainstream, digital and social media.
Prior to co-founding CSG, Michael spent seven years leading pharmaceutical government relations for Johnson & Johnson in Western Canada. He is a former Chief of Staff to the Klein government in Environment, Agriculture, and Infrastructure.
Michael was in the war room for each of the 2008, 2012, and 2015 provincial elections, and has managed campaigns at all levels of government. Today, he is frequently called upon to provide operational expertise, candidate training, and advice, to both candidates and elected officials.
Michael regularly provides media commentary on politics, government, and policy. He holds a master of business administration (MBA) from Queen’s University, and a bachelor of commerce (BCom) from the University of Alberta.
