Berit is highly knowledgeable in Canadian federal and international politics bringing a critical lens to the interplay of provincial, federal, and international spheres of influence. Prior to joining CSG, Berit served as a Policy Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly and previous Minister Marc Garneau. She played a key role in shaping foreign policy and advancing Canada’s interests, deepening Canada’s partnerships in the Americas and advising on military and dual-use exports. Prior to her role on the hill, Berit gained valuable experience as a Constituency Assistant to Liberal Member of Parliament Patrick Weiler, where she specialized in outreach efforts, as well as Deputy Campaign Manager to B.C. United MLA Jordan Sturdy. These experiences have equipped her with a deep understanding of governmental processes and the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

Berit’s skill set is further complemented by excellent communication, crisis management, and relationship-building abilities. Her strengths lie in spearheading comprehensive political engagement strategies, conducting effective outreach, and fostering positive relationships with governmental entities.

Born and raised in Whistler, B.C., Berit completed a dual bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and the Sciences Po Paris Campus de Reims. She also holds a master’s degree from the Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs in International Security, providing her with a strong academic foundation in understanding the complexities of political landscapes and international affairs.
